After My sister finished her WAEC She got a Job as a sales rep in an eatry.
She goes to work by 8am and closes by 9pm in the Night
HOW THE MISTAKE OF MY SISTER COST US OUR LAND
So this faithful day there was this lady who came to the eatry at about 9pm with a bag, she called my sister at the counter that she wanted fried rice.
My sister told her it’s already 9pm they don’t sell when it is 9pm.
The lady went to her knees that she’s willing to pay twice the price for a plate of rice that she’s coming from Delta State that she have not eaten anything since morning
My sister out of pity brought out the Rice she had kept in the refrigerator and microwaved it for her.
She offered to pay double but my sister refused.
She finished eaten she called my sister that she’s done with the food.
My sister rushed to get the plates she held her hand and said
”I need a place to spend the night
As it is already late I won’t be able to get an abuja car it’s past 10″
My sister referred some hotels to her, but she said she’s left with just her transport money to Abuja.
She said, she wouldn’t mind sleeping in the eatry, of which my sister said if her boss finds out she will be sacked.
My sister now decided to bring her home.
I was still very young then as I was hearing my dad using our native language to shout on my sister for bringing home a stranger.
My sister kept pleading with my dad saying “she’s staying just for a nite”
And beside daddy it’s already 11pm
Just 6hours left.
And she will be gone
My dad kept his cool,
But wasn’t happy at all
We all prayed
And we went into our various room.
It was 7am in the morning,
We heard a very hard knock
on our gate I rushed to open it. It was an Army Van.
I rushed to call my dad
Dad was shocked!
What is going on here dad kept on saying!
As the whole Neighbours were already at our gate waiting to hear the gist.
Oga you have to follow us to the station for wccommodating a kller!
My dad was shocked!!
A lady klled her husband this morning in Kaduna south
And we tracked her number to this address
Suddenly my sister said ”but the lady we accommodated is from Delta”
One of the police man shouted so you go about believing everything that comes out of people’s lips.
It was like I was watching a movie
Suddenly my dad sent my sister to bring her visitor, she ran into the room accompanied by the force men but she was no more in her room.
The visitor had vanished.
My dad was taken along with my sister who was crying uncontrollably. The visitor had used the fence to run away.
Dad asked me to call my uncle who was his lawyer.
Uncle got to the station and he brought a report saying we had accommodated a Kller unknowingly.
That she klled her husband and she was on the run.
I was shocked because she look totally calm and innocent.
Police were still searching everywhere for her as my dad was locked up.
Mum had refused to eat, prayer and fasting had become her medication for 3days.
I was still in deep shock
The world is indeed a strange place.
People are really wicked, I kept saying within myself.
After dad spent 3days in police custody she was finally caught
We had to sell the only land the family had just to bail our dad as police were accusing him of conspiracy.
We had sold the only land we had to pay the sum of 700,000 to write off the case.

This had taught me a terrible lesson in life.
